I just traded my '06 Horizon 180 for an '06 Horizon 210. the boat has the 5.0 VP 270hp. I have yet to pick it up but have a question about the performance. Dealer says it'll run 48-51 mph. Anybody have one and can you confirm this? Also any suggestions on prop size etc.? Thanks!

SX or DP? Four Winns website says 44-47mph with the SX and 45-48 with the DP. I've found most of their performance numbrs to be spot on.

I'll second that. I was amazed how close their published performance numbers match what our boat actually does.

I have the Horizon 210 with the Volvo SX 270hp. I asked the salesman again and his spec book says it'll run 51-54 mph with the 21" pitch prop that is on it. 3 times he's given me those numbers. It's a 2006 with EFI. I saw the 2005 specs and it's much slower. That's why I asked him 3 times. Do you have a 2006 spec list or site where I can compare? I used to have a Chris Craft 210 Scorpion with 260hp. It would run 51-55 mph. Thanks!

Personally, I wouldn't sweat the top speed for the following reasons:
    1. Top speed is very subjective to conditions, type of water, etc.
    2. I'm going to guess that the FW is heavier than the scorpion. FW has a fiberglass liner were I believe the Scorpion had just a wood deck
    3. I rarely run my boat at WOT. I like my engines and want them to be with me for as long as possible.
    4. If you looking for top speed, look for a go-fast. FW didn't optimize the boat for speed, but rather for functinality and comfort.

Well I took delivery of my 210 today. Went out with a full tank, full cooler and my wife and her friend. It got up to 55mph (on the speedo) with ease. Great riding boat. Cruises nice at 35-40mph.

We have a 210 we took delivery of 2 weeks ago, due to weather only been out once, water was rough but 45 was no problem, we have 270 hp Volvo also.
Boat was great in choppy water, rode really well.
Looking forward to better weather.

Yup, the FW specs are online:

Appears the specs are on the money given the speedos vary by a few MPH.

I have an '06 210H with the 220HP, Carb. I have had mine WOT once and got up to 51-52 MPH. I agree with other posters here in that, I did that once mainly out of curiosity. I typically cruise at about 38-40 MPH if I am going somewhere.

You shouldbe real happy with the performance though when it comes to getting out of the hole, etc. I am!
