Just bought a red 200ss with the 5.7 merc bravo 1 drive. I have the option of changing the low windshield for the regular high windshield. Does the low windshield offer any protection? How does the plexiglass hold up to scratches? We live in northern Canada so there will be some cold mornings and nights boating. Does the high windshield offer good wind protection for tall people, I'm 6'2"? Thanx in advance for your responses.

I am not sure on the protection just wanted to say Hi to a fellow SS owner.
I am awating the arrival of a 220 Horizon SS. It seems that we are a small group not to many people seem to have these boats.

I just love the look of the low windsheild makes the boat look slick

I saw both SS and standard windshields in the showroom this past weekend. The difference in height did not appear significant. I don't know, but my guess is that use of the pass through doors will make much more difference than an inch or two of windshield. HTH

If you want to get out of the wind you really have to duck down low behind the low-profile windshield, and then its hard to see being the glass is bent right at that spot your ducked behind. But in the summer here in Texas is great to get the extra breeze. I wouldn't trade.
