Hi guys, I have a 2000 Four Winns H190.

I have been having speedo problems. My speedo does not work at all. I have taken my boat to 3 different places now and they all say they cant find the part needed. They say i need a whole new speedo system because the old one is just broken. Saying i need a new transducer. Anyone know a site that carries the parts i may need?

You're probably going to have to call your local FW dealer or try the fine folks at Winnesquam. If you have the same speedo as mine, it's not very common. Most speedos are a pitot tube. Mine is a paddle wheel which is an electrical based system. Of course I have the VDO cluster, so there's no easy way to swap out to a pitot tube. I have seen the paddle wheels on ebay which is what I need as mine was broken off when I bought the boat. I've just been using the tach and the gps on my phone when needed. I think it's much cheaper and easier to just use the gps. Good luck.

I have a 2001 H180 with probably the same paddlewheel speedo. Mine also incorporates the temperature transducer in the paddlewheel enclosure. The part is a Raymarine e66019. Do a google search for that and a bunch will come up for ordering. Once installed it will have to be calibrated to be acurate. I'm not sure ow that is done but a boat shop should be able to figure it out.
Good luck Rob

I am currently replacing all of my gauges because my VDO cluster was starting to fail... fuel gaugle flaky, speedo doesn't work at all, ammeter doesn't work, and oil pressure goes up and down while cruising...motor does not correspond with that. If you have the VDO cluster my suggestion is GET RID OF IT... your just going to start confusing yourself...chances are the problem with your speedo has nothing to do with the paddle wheel

Try Faria directly. If you ski and such, look into Perfect Pass (stargazer). It's a GPS based cruise and speedo. It replaces the gage as well with a digital GPS based speedometer, tach and clock. A little pricy if you are only after speed though (about $1200), but worth it for serious wakeboarding.

Most of us just ignore the generally inacurate built in speedometers and use a ram-mount GPS.

You have a VDO gauge cluster in that boat I do believe, all the gauges in one cluster? Your problem if you are lucky is the paddle wheel on the rear of the boat, any Four Winns dealer should have that in stock. If its not that then the cluster is the issue and thats more of a hassle as they are NLA and they have to be rebuild by a place down in Alabama.

Speedo, what speedo. I got my new H200 on 30th June this year. The 1st speedo started at 15mph and never got over 26. after the break in period 3500rpm still only 26 mph max. dealer fitted new speedo it registers at the 6o'clock position at rest and gets to 10mph at 3500revs.I have blown out the pitot tube several times from the speedo head down and cleaned out the hole infront of the outdrive. The dealer says bring it in and he will fit a new tube, I think I will live with the rev counter, dont want a dealer ripping out the inside trim to fit a new tube, speedos are not important as they are unreliable anyway, you can see when theres no wake and you you can tell when you are going fast enough for tubing or skiing.
The Boat is great the dealers leave a lot to be desired.

Ray
