Do all Four Winns models have the same annoying low oil/water warning when starting the boat? This noise is so loud; people on the boat launch look at me like WTF is wrong with that boat? It’s really loud; my Stingray never had something that was so ear piercing....

You'll be glad of that loud buzzer if you ever overheat or loose oil pressure. My 3.0l Volvo doest it to. Volvo wants you to know something is amiss!

Do you hear this buzzer everytime you start? I have a new to me '98 4.3 that I just started using this weekend that I don't believe makes such a noise.

I'll be certain to pay extra attention next time, but possibly they did not have the buzzer in '98.

Yeah I have the same thing on mine as well as the Depth Sounder going off. I just warn people the first time I turn the boat on to not scare them, but once they hear it the first time they ignore it after it.

But, I do know what you mean, it is quite loud, but if you are moving at 45 mph you have to be able to hear it over the engine

the alarm is sounding because the oil pressure is low until the engine revs up to idle. It's very easy to add a mute switch to the alarm but you better always remember to put it back to normal once your engine is running.

If you look under the helm dash you will see a red bottle cap looking thing on 2 wires. See if the Four Winns factory volume control is still in place, its black electrical tape! Yep thats right Four Winns puts a piece of electrical tape over half the buzzer hole to lower the volume alittle. I've already had to put a new piece of tape on mine. (I was going to have it covered under warranty just for giggles)
