It was stupid, picked up a Samsung Focus and much happier now. I hated how you had no trial on apps, no refunds, and you had to pull teeth to put a regular MP3 on the thing that you didn't buy through the app store. Not to mention you had to jail break to get any kind of functionality out of it and that got wiped every time an update came out...if the update didn't create more problems and another update was needed after that, then wait a month for a new jailbreak. It was ridiculous. I'm glad I stopped drinking the juice.

Stainless cup holders came in! The helm is starting to get classy!! The final piece to my helm upgrade is a carbon fiber overlay on the gray gauge surround and still have to make the aluminum radio holder.

For reference here was the factory helm when I got the boat last year.

Rick, I plan to update my steering wheel on my 2001 Horizon based on your purchase. My question is the four winns factory emblem: Can you help me with the FW Stock Number?

BTW, last year I updated to the exact same Stereo and Speakers. Has worked great so far.
I like the look of the stainless cup holders too!!

I'm not sure of the part #, I just called my local four winns dealer and told them what I wanted. I would have to do some research on what exactly they sent me, I threw the bags in the trash I could probably call em. Basically, I went on the old Four Winns brochures and and browsed the website until I found what I wanted:
http://www.fourwinns.com/past_product/catalogs//2005/Horizon%20&%20Sundowner%20(Sportboat%20&%20Cuddy)/24%20200%20Horizon.pdf

I do like the Polk DB651 speakers too but I'm sad I did not get the better MM651's that are $20 more. Plus they're black. I did just order a set of 3 way 6x9 MM691's for under the rear jump seats. They should fill in the audio nicely. Sometime later I'll upgrade the two front DB's to MM's.

The boat is really starting to come together I think, I'm really happy with it. I'm trying not to do anything garish like crazy lighting or graphics and turn it into a "party boat".... even though it is  I want it to keep the appearance of being classy. The pirate flag will be leaving for a U.S. Yacht Ensign flag too when that comes in Wednesday.

More goodies came in the mail! I <3 Amazon Prime! $3.99 overnight shipping!

A decent oil pump to replace the plastic west marine thing I have and a remote for the radio to put in the bow!

Cool! Where did you order the stainless cup holders and are they a standard size for all models?

Thanks!

There's a million different sized stainless cup holders you have to measure what you currently have. My boat has 3 3/4in holes.

Some pics from yesterday. I still need to install the new radio surround and remote in the bow. I had a change of plans for the radio, I'm still using the aluminum as a surround but I'm going to cover it with the same carbon fiber I'm using to cover the gray dash kidney looking thing.

Ric - mod's looking good. I think I might have to steal your steering wheel idea! I added the rear Polks myself. Pretty easy running the wires other than coming from the port to starboard in the ski compartment. A hanger worked well and radio shack sells the little connectors that fit into the factory plastic housing. I stuck with the Sony http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158M60UI/S ... ine+stereo so it was plug n play. I had to get a new one as I kept taking the face plate off and I think corrosion got in there. Now I leave it in and just put the plastic cover down when washing the boat down. Yes, my usb is on the back, but I have an ipod cable running out from behind (on my project list to find a place to mount the boat dedicated ipod with the cable.).

What is that sticker next to the gauges? That would drive me nuts. Might be a good place to mount something (switches, ipod holder, etc).

The sticker is just a boatus thing. It's there to fill the gap until I finally decide to throw in a Garmin GPS/sounder in the location. I don't need GPS/sounder but by early summer I'll have one installed just in case I leave my lake and hit somewhere else bigger and unknown. I'm also not sure where to mount the VHF radio (which I also don't need but all boats NEED one). There's a spot maybe to mount it on the passenger side under the glove box flush without running into the glove box. I'm really excited to mount the rear 6x9's I think it will fill in the sound nicely. I'm going way from the polk DB series and going to go all MM series. They sound 100x better.

A VHF is always nice to have. Just a thought, consider a handheld VHF instead. They have the same range, and do not need to be mounted. I have one that we take up on the beach when we are not on the boat. When friends hail us, we have the handheld right there to answer their call.

My helm is different than yours (wish I had yours as it has more space). Crappy pic, but could not find another one, of where I mounted my GPS. I used one of the Ram mounts and ran the wiring down the side of the helm and under. I too looked for a spot for the VHF. I needed it last July for mini season and ended up returning the permanent mount vhf I bought and picked up a handheld unit. Not the best, but worked fine. If I could find a place to mount it I would. I was going to put it in front of the cup holder as the former owner had a depth gauge there and I have a hole. If not, a second cup holder might make do.

Here is a shot of the Polk in the rear.

I found it at West Marine by the audio and antenna parts. Ram Mounting Systems http://www.ram-mount.com and I have since seen them at Dicks Sporting Goods. The knob on the right of the GPS unscrews and I can unplug the connector and take the unit out of the boat. The base stays on the mount.
