I'm trying to figure what exactly this wire is for. It's the brown wire in the picture. This is on the starboard side of a '98 Johnson 130 on my '99 Horizon 180. This wire has pulled out of the sensor. I think this is part of my temperature sending unit system. I also believe this may be why I do not ever show a rise in temperature on my gauge. Just looking for verification.

Any ideas?

It is the wire for the temperature switch. The wire attaches to a pin that goes to the temp switch. If you unscrew the cover it is likely to be a rather easy fix to re-attach the wire.

Great! Thanks for the reply. I'll have to try and get that fixed when I get back into town from work.
