Post subject:  "Hinging" seats on the funship?

Anyone done anything clever as far as retrofitting hinges, or straps on the seat pads? I have now lost the 2 rear pads (port and starboard cockpit seats) on the freeway.
Now, sure, I could put the travel cover on the boat, but doesn't it seem logical that Four Winns might attach their seats somehow?

Suggestions welcome!

I have had concerns about this same issue. I plan to bolt some "eye"s to the seat pad frames and the interiors of the aft seat bases. Then I can secure the base pads with bungees from the inside. One one trip I stretched a bungee over the outside of the starboard pad but did not care for how the vinyl creased under the bungee. I usually slide and wedge the driver and passenger seats all the way into the aft seat bases but this only provides limited security.

Stow them in the tow vehicle or use the cover. Ain't rocket science...

The trouble with any sort of hold-down straps or fastening system is that highway wind pressure puts a LOT of force onto the various surfaces. If something isn't screwed down the problem isn't just losing it outright, the bigger problem is small vibrating motion. Those small motions will cause wear marks. Or they'll contribute to a strap getting worn through (which would in turn lead to a road safety risk due to the flying pads). So it's sort of hard to find an effective workaround that doesn't cause more problems. Thus stowing or covering are the least problematic solutions.

Yup, that is, in fact, what I do.

Thanks for the input.

I read about someone using velcro tape to keep the seats in place ( it think it was for driving on the lake and not on the trailer and another idea I read was attaching a leather hinge. Personally I trailer with the cover on.
