The plastic drain screen has came unglued from my boat (at the floor in the front of my motor cover). I notice this is a hose that runs to the transom to a black rubber baffle. Is this to drain water from the cockpit ? I just bought the boat and it will be moored this summer so I'm really need to get it fixed.

Is this drain necessary? Should I just plug it and let any rain water get in run to the motor compartment and let the bilge take care of it? What's the best glue to use?

Thanks

Yes - this is the cockpit drain. Seems like something you'd want to get fixed. I wouldn't want the cockpit water draining into the engine compartment and potentially getting components wet. I also have my battery charger mounted in that general are in there.

Yes you want to keep this scupper working. Inviting water to stay in the boat that could otherwise have been gravity drained overboard is just looking for trouble in my opinion.

Not 100% sure what came apart but I suggest 3M marine silicone as a good adhesive.

Do you have a pic or a bit more detail as to what came apart?

In most cases, there is a nut that holds the drain in place. It may have come loose.
