It felt great taking out our new 224. It came of the trailer nicely held the water very nicely, We spent most of the time going through the tedious 2 hour break in period. We loved it. It felt great. WE had a 19 foot stingray and there was a night and day difference in the handling. I did have a difficult time getting it back on the trailer. I think I had the trailer too far in the water. Once I had the bow center on the trailer, the back kicked out. I was bumbed to see how easy the side trailer guide bent. I just installed a keel guard and I am ready to take it back out. Has anyone else had issues trailering theor funship?

Is the trailer a Four Winns? I loved the trailer for our 245 Sundowner. It would take a lot to damage the side guide bunks.

Anyway, in general, you typically want the trailer fenders almost .... but not quite fully ... submerged. If the trailer is too deep, the bow eye will bee too high in relation to the bow rollers and the trailer bunks will be too deep below the hull for a proper alignment ..... and the stern will float around, like you noted. If anything, experiment with a shallower trailer depth and if the boat is tough to get all the way up on the trailer, then try just a bit deeper. Experimentation, when there is not a line of anxious boaters waiting, will be the ticket.

You want those side guide bunks to be no deeper than the hull sides, so that they will guide the boat all the way on.
