I am posting this for a boating friend of mine; he was having a problem registering so he asked if I would post for him. How could I not help someone join the Four Winns family. Pete asks: “Does anyone have experience with the FW F224 in open water, and how does it handle in swells”? He currently owns a 19’ Mako and is looking for comfort. Thanks for you help. |

We only have had our 224 for a month and about 13 hours. I love the way it handles in open choppy water. It plows through the chop nicely. I had a 19 ft stingray and the difference is night and day. |

I just had my new 224 in the open waters of Grand Lake in Oklahoma. It's not really open water but huge lake with high winds. 3 foot chop and white caps was not bad at all. Trim up halfway and move about 20 - 25 mph and things went pretty smooth. These are NOT as smooth as a Horizon going through rough water as they are not your typical V-nose. I can tell you it operated much much better than my smaller Horizon and when you take into account the immenities, size, and price I love it. I don't know what kind of rough water your talking but it did good. |
