Just thought I would introduce myself. Just picked up a 235 sundowner. Cost me $0. Found on Craigslist. Motor and out drive seem solid but the interior is shot so will deffinantly be redone. So I hope to check out all the information on the site and get some pointers

This will be my second boat. I originally had a 1973 slickcraft 235 amf. So look forward to getting to know people and get some good information

Well I'm actually in the states near Chicago. I am Canadian thought and Srt is my favorite car that I own. My friends nicknamed me Canadian and hense my screen name haha.

I mainly boat in wisconsin near lake Geneva or green lake but with some luck, money(of caurse), time. I will have this boat fixed up. Would love to get out on lake Michigan and cruise the Chicago skyline

Welcome. Sounds like you've got some work to do but the price was right considering that.

Ah, the other side of the "lakes" (for me anyways)... I'm always on the lookout for FW owners in my neck of the woods, seem the majority are up MI way, or down in FL. One of these days I'm gonna try and organize a Lake Ontario FW regatta....

Yea I couldn't believe they said free as well as friends family and my neighbors did not believe me. I plan on starting the tear down today and begin the rehab. Just have to take care of the bee issue that this boat has. Counted 7 honey comb nests with wasps on it.

If you ever decide to have a get together and this boats ready to go. I would love to do it. Would be a great vacation for my family

If only I had that type of get it ready now money. This will be going side by side with my track car that I am building so I'm hoping both projects don't take long. Unless I finally find a better job then they would get done a lot faster.

Make sure to document all your work with pics. That way you have reference for future issues and by posting them here, you can help any future boat restorers...
