My boat which is a cuddy has an anchor locker all the way forward in cuddy. The sunroof window leaked and water gets in the anchor locker. Question is this at the bottom of the storage locker there is a half inch hole. However no water can drain from this hole. Does anyone know what this hole is. I'm thinking they may have drilled it but unsure. I believe I do feel the foam in there. Any help would be appreciated.

My anchor locker has a drain on the starboard side, there is a chrome clamshell shield on the outside of the hull where it drains out. Having said that, the drain is not at the actual bottom of the locker so there is always a small amout of water left. ALso, mine has a hole to secure the anchor line through a rib down in the locker.

I'll take a pic tomorrow this hole defiantly has foam I can feel it when I put my finger in it. I'm trying to figure out if it needs to be plugged or if it's a drain that's plugged. I wouldn't think there would be a drain into the foam area of the boat but I may be wrong.

You're right. Shouldn't be foam in it. Can you check on the outside of the hull for a drain location? It should be fairly obvious from the outside.

Mine was clogged with mud when I bought the boat. Now I'm always careful to make sure the anchor is clean.

It doesnt go all the way through only in through one layer. Im going to try removing the pannels around it to see if i can figur out whats going on with it.

I have a Sundowner 255, a little different in design for sure, but the 'clamshells' to drain the anchor locker are (were) also too high so that water was still accumulating in the bottom of the locker, and seeping into the cabin. I created a false floor from a kitchen cutting board, and formed it inside the locker to match the 'clamshell' level, and sealed the false floor with silicon - problem solved without losing much room in the locker at all.
