Hi everyone, have been following ifourwinns all summer and have a slow day at work so i thought i'd register and say hi to everyone.

Recently purchased a 1989 205 Sundowner with the ford 5.0 engine and OMC outdrive

(replaced the tow vehicle though, just a bit much for the liberty, Tahoe is much better  )

Welcome to the forum, glad to have another SD of the same vintage pop up. There are several on here now, which is great! I tow with a Yukon (same car, with a GMC v Chevy badge) and you are right...tows much better. I used my wife's Liberty to move it in the driveway, which was actually easier to maneuver around because of the short wheelbase, but I wouldn't take it on the road being so close to the max towing capacity of that vehicle.

Where do you boat?

Again, welcome!
-John

Hi John,
i couldn't be happier with our boat, its quite an upgrade from a 1970 14' yar-craft! I boat mainly around Michigan. We live about 5 miles from a large inland lake here called Devils Lake, but we also travel up north to Torch, Hougton, and hopefully someday when i'm feeling brave the great lakes.

Also we went to Lake Cumberland this year in Kentucky and "coved out" for 3 nights on it, loved that and plan on doing that again next year and would recommend it to anyone who has the chance!

Welcome. I have only been her 5 minutes longer than you so I still qualify as FNG too.

1987 Sundowner 195 for me w/Merc 3.7 165hp. She'll do 42 on the GPS with a load of 2 adults and 3 kids.

Count me in the 1987 club. Ours is called "Bazinga" It's red with a 175hp Johnson outboard. The outboard has a brand new power head so it runs great. Tops off a little over 40 MPH (If I want to redline and blow up the engine). We boat out of Huntington NY.
