| Post subject: | how many ppl can sleep in a 2004 205 sundowner? |
Does anyone own this particular model and give me their honest opinion about the sleeping arrangement. Would 2 tall adults and 2 kids around 5 camp comfortably in this boat? |

We had a 2004 225 for one season before upgrading to a 268 (2 seasons). It was myself, my wife and a 4 year old at that time. We lasted a season. If your going to sleep on it, get a Vista. Right now it's us, an 11 year old and a 2 year old. The 268 would be doable but very cramped. We spend weekends on the boat and ten days straight in the summer. |

I also have a 2004 205. I can't see that working out well. I think it'll be too cramped. |

We sleep 2 adults on ours all the time. Often for 2 or 3 nights. It's tight but we love being out on the water and we've added quite a few things to make it work for us. Add two kids (even as young as yours) and I'd say it'd be almost unbearable, even for a quick overnighter. |

Without a full enclosure it is uncomfortable, although we make it work. Our '98 205 has one and we sleep 2 adults in the cuddy and two small kids on the back to backs laid out. Our '03 205 is different. No full enclosure so, we use the mooring cover. The surround seating only gives us the sun pad conversion to sleep one kid but, we use a floatie on the floor to compensate.

I had a 2005 205 and at the time it was my wife, myself, and our two small children 5/1. With the camper enclosure, it was doable. If we spent more than one night out we would be at each other's throats to say the least. One night wasnt too bad, but usually one of us (ME) would end up sleeping curled up on the u shaped seat in the cockpit. For as reasonable as 248 vistas seem to be, if I did it all over again it would have been more comfortable that way. We spent 3 full seasons on the 205 and made a lot of memories though! It depends on your budget and towing capabilities...... |
