1989 215 sundowner, 5.0 ford engine cuts out at medium and high speeds when I adjust the out drive trim and when using the trim tabs.
Any Ideas, Thanks Tom

Old corroded battery cables. Replace the battery cables, use marine tinned cables at least 2 gauge, do not use wing nuts to retain them on the batt connection, use either a lock nut or bolt on a marine quality automotive style clamp (what I did). Clean the connection for the batt cable on the starter solenoid and the engine ground terminal on the bellhousing. The issue is that the trim sytem and trim tabs draw enough current to starve the ignition system of electrical power, and if the cables are corroded/old and crappy automotive quality wire (what my boat had), you can have this problem. I replaced all the batt cables with marine tinned cables, with clamps for the batt connection about 10 years ago when I put in my dual batt system. No problems with the trim causing engine stumbling after that. Keep in mind that your alt only puts out about 55 amps.
