Post subject:  2002 225 sundowner trim fuse

My trim does not work anymore. I figured out the wires in the control hanlde were de-isolated and there I think the fuse is gone.
I checked the fuses below the steering wheel as well as the fuses on top of the 5.0 Volvo GXi and I did not find a fuse for the trim.
I would assume it is a inline fuse somewhere but still did not find it. Can anybody advice the location of the trim hydraulic pump fuse?

Thanks so much
Andi

You did not mention what engine/drive you have. So.
Go to this link and download the owners manual for your engine
http://www.volvopenta.com/marineleisure/en-en/home.html
There are pictures of where the fuses and circuit breakers for your engine and drive.
It may not show the 10A inline fuse, it's located on the trim pump bracket.

For Mercruiser, the fuses are right by the pump itself.

The problem might also be a relay or the sender.

The fuse is on the trim pump/ reservoir bracket. which is probably on the port side of the engine compartment. It may also be to failed relay(s) or corroded connectors , which are on the same bracket

I found the trim fuse which was broken. It is right next to the battery (so not even all the way in the engine compartment) just next to the battery on the port side.
The reason was that the cable from the trim switch through the lever was squeezed.
new fuse and new cables work fine :)
