I think this story gives hope to everyone looking for a used boat and think they can't afford the one they really want! On the other hand, dumping your current boat doesn't look so good.

Delaware boat huh? I was next to this exact boat except somebody updated the "Vista" logo (as I did on my 248) this weekend at fairlee creek. Was that you? Either way, Congrats!!

You saved a ton of money (as I did) buying used. It's nuts how much dang value they lose so fast. I'd venture to say that the 298's that were spoken about where guys are in over their heads were purchased new!

When boaters get in over thier heads, we get great deals! The guy who ordered my 248 new used it literally less than three times (30 hours) and decided he wanted a 298.... Problem was, he ordered the 298 and still owned the 248.... I have no problem saying I paid 57K for a 2006 248 with every available option with 30 hours on it and the extended volvo warranty till 2011.

NADA shows the boat at 80K.. Now, could you get 80K for it, I don't know.. But I'm certain if the guy "could" have waited he could have gotten mid 60's easy, maybe 70's....

Pre-owned is the only way to fly!
