The previous owner managed to shear off the tips of the fuel, water, and waste tank vents on the starboard side. I ordered the replacements and when I put them in, ( they screw in from the outside), the rubber gaskets expanded and did not provide an adequate seal. I had to back them off a bit to get the seals to stay under the edge. Is there a trick to this or should I put the gaskets on the inside and 3m the outside?

These vents deteriorate from the sun and get brittle. I Emailed Attwood and they sent me a supply of the outside parts. Do not overtighten.

I thought so. The parts that did come off crumbled. As long as the fit is tight, is that all it takes? No wiggle?

I got to mine by removing the speaker. My speaker is mounted practically opposite the vents. There's a lot of room in there.
