After years of using a rope light to illuminate the cockpit we decided to install some low power draw led downlights instead. We loved the ambiance of the rope light, but got tired of it falling down and having to be removed to be trailered. After hanging out on Jnizi's boat and seeing his blue lights we were inspired to upgrade, plus I knew Firecadet ordered 3 color lights so I had to find 4 color lights asap

I really like the quality and customer service I got with my Seablaze3 lights so I ordered the Lumitec Orbit 4 color lights. Install was easy and only required an 1 1/4 in hole to be drilled into the arch.

The color change is controlled by a simple on/off switch, and with each toggle of the switch they change color. After the switch has been off for 3 seconds it automatically changes back to white.

Purple:(Almost a softer white in person)

These lights are pretty intense with the exception of the purple. If your looking for soft mood lighting I'm not sure these are what your looking for, although they do sell a dimable version in the 2 color model. Overall I'm happy with the results and think they will look cool out on the lake, especially with the matching underwater lights on.

Show off! I need to check them out in person, they seem quite a bit brighter than my i2 systems lights.

Is the first color white?

Mine should be in Monday. How did you decide the distance from center to mount them? Were you able to key off of Joe's boat? I'll be making a trip to the marina to install them especially after seeing your pictures. The admiral even said WOW and you know she's a hard sell.

They'll look really cool when they're on parked side by side in N Michigan. 8)

Is he replacing his too? I'm going with the two color because I want the dimmable option. I was only after the blue color although I think the red would be great navigating at night. This has been on my radar screen since I bought the boat I just never found a light that I liked.

I need to make a trip to catch up with everyone at MS. Can't catch a break around here. We stayed home last night because of the forecast and I'm glad we did. Sat out storms in our basement. I heard there is damage in the area and it wouldn't have been a good night to be on a boat even in a marina. How's the new guy do on the boat? Tell everyone we said hi!

Looking for 5 color lights now, and a mirror ball. It's going to be a long summer!

Honestly I just kind of eye balled where they would look best by making a disk out of blue painters tape and seeing what spot looked best. Backdraft had recommended using a carpenters square to center them on the arch, which was a great idea but I forgot mine at home that night. Instead I made a U-shaped template out of cardboard to mark the centering point on a piece of masking tape. Then I used a tape measure from the edge of the access panel and marked the distance line on the tape to mark an X. I must have measured and re measured a dozen times before I drilled....luckly the location looks good.

Of course now you'll always wonder if it's really centered or not...

Just 5 lights Jnizi.... I know you can do better than that. I was picturing a complete laser light show that dances to whatever music is playing...maybe a fog machine?
