Has anyone replaced the starboard fuel sending unit on a 318? It looks like I need to cut an access hole for better access as I can really reach it from the engine room and the existing hole behind the seat is to high.

Looking for any advice before I tackle this project.

my guess is the access is through the removal of the wall in aft cabin. I have had my port wall down and the tank is right there.
Never had the Stbd wall/cabinet down but the tank is right behind it

I had to replace the anti siphon valves. I removed the starboard storage seat base and cut in a 6" deck hatch. You can't see it when the base is put back and gave great access to the fuel pickup and sending unit

I used one of those hole saws for recessed lighting. Perfect size.

I thought you had. That was the idea for access that I had, sounds like it'll work.

Forgot to call. When the rear starboard seat base is pulled there is a flat area facing forward that is just behind the fuel tank. It's perfect for a 6" deck hatch, I think they should have put it in at the factory to give access to the anti siphon valve and sender.

On the port side if you pull the fridge there is an access hole to get to them.

No problem. That's where I was envisioning after I thought about it.
