So.... as the previous owner installed the jabsco 29200-120 in the boat. Worked fine a couple weeks ago. Turned the switch left and right, nothing happens. Checked the fuse at the panel, good. Checked the fuse at the unit, it's good, also have 12 volts there. Took the top section off, getting 12 volts to the other side of the actuator switch.

Ran out of time from there. Had to head home. Bringing my manual hand pump to temp install and pull this puppy out next weekend....

Not sure if it's got a jam (I would think the motor would still hum) or maybe the motor went bad. Any experience with this would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Ive had that happen with mine before where a clog prevented it from doing anything. If i remember correctly it happened after we were anchored out for a weekend and the batteries were low so the motor didnt have enough power to grind it up properly and it locked. Try bringing a little plunger with you and plunging while turning the switch

Btw Since that incedent if the batteries are low Ill start the start the engine to flush and proudly declare to my wife that it takes a small block chevy to flush when Im done

Thank you! I had a crew of co workers(men) out for the day, and I told them only piss, no crapping in the head.... I am wondering if someone took a crap and jammed it up.... I will try the plunger, I appreciate the info!

I was just looking at full electric toilets, looks like less than $500, if it's quieter, it may be worth the swap.... hoping this gets it done.....

So, took this thing apart, actually it was as clean as could be... no jams or anything. Motor went bad. Decided to just order a complete new assembly and start fresh  almost 4 bills later, but at least it was delivered in less than 48 hours (on a Sunday no less) and ready to put in....

When we bought our boat the previous owners replaced that electric motor twice and were ready to give up on the whole unit and I cant blame them because it would barely flush a bowl of piss. After some investigation I found the larger wires off the motor were connected to the back of the light switch which was fed by maybe 14-16ga wires. I rewired it with 8ga all the way to the battery and the motor really came alive and started working great, its worked flawlessly for 8 yrs now. The point of my story is undersized wiring will kill a high amperage drawing electric motor like this one so please check your wiring just to make sure yours isn't wired improperly like ours was

Good info Bliss! I believe mine is fine, it's #10 awg fed from the fuse box by the helm. 8awg would be better, but length wise, I don't have that much voltage drop, I will double check the draw when I get it working. At rest it was 11.9 volts.... mine flushes fine, plenty of power to move the stuff
