Removing the swim platform can be done. The four main bolts would need to be pushed back in to the boat to remove the platform, and re-sealed in the spring during re-installation. They will be "fun" to get to inside the engine compartment The support tube screws should come out OK, and you would want to re-seal them during re-installation also. It will take at least 2 people, or at least some creativity. There is more to the swim platform than just a couple layers of fiberglass, but I'm not sure what is where inside it.

Me again.

I want to rig up a davit solution on the swim platform and I'm curious about the thickness/composition of the platform. Is it just a layer of fiberglass, or is there a wood core?

Also, as the boat is about to go into storage, is there anything preventing me from removing the platform for the winter so I can work on it? Is it glued/sealed to the transom, or is it just a matter of removing the transom nuts and the support bars and I'm good to go?

Thanks!

Yes there is a wood core but its not very thick, maybe 1/2" or less. I drilled a core out of my platform to mount the Swim Platform accessary bar and davits so I'll look this evening for the pictures from the install

Sorry I haven't replied with the pics yet, I haven't been able to locate them. I believe the plug I removed is still down at the warehouse I winter store the boat at so hopefully I can post a pic of that in a few weeks
