I think The largest I have Seen is 600 watts, but that would be like 50 amps

Most cigarette-plug type sockets use a 15 amp fuse on the 12 volt system. 12 Volts multiplied by 15 amps is 180 watts. Theoretically this would be the highest load the 12 volt system and fuse would handle. BUT.......Consider that you lose a little efficiency through the inverter, and consider that you do not want to operate the this system at maximum capacity and risk blowing fuses frequently. A maximum electrical load closer to 100 to 120 watts would be more appropriate. This would be a laptop computer, or a portable LED TV, a 110 volt lamp with a 100 watt light bulb, or similar. Some portable inverters up to about 400 Watts may have aligator clips to connect to the battery. For a larger electrical load the inverter really should be hard-wired into the system. For comparison purposes, a 2000 watt load would require would require 166 amps from a 12 volt battery!!!
