We just picked up our 2000 268 Vista Cruiser :D  unfortunately the place we had arranged to store it for the winter has a 11'6" doors. The 268 with tower is 12'2" :( Has anyone removed their tower for storage and if so what kind of a job is it?

I assume since you are asking there are no other options for storing it? in 2000 they were fiberglass and I am not sure how they are attached. I would be concerned about getting it back on right if yo ugot it off.

Have you tried putting it into storage yet? I know with ours there was a discrepency with how tall it actually was on the trailer (published vs. actual). Maybe you can take the extra room for clerance out sf someplace else instead of dismanteling the tower. Tires maybe, trailer suspension set up if it's only going to be a winter time thing.

+1 to choices. If you are trying to save 8 inches, you'll get quite a bit of that by defalting the tires or modifying the suspension. Just be sure you don't leave the trailer resting on flat tires -- I would put the trailer on blocks or something.

Or - can you remove anything (thinking anchor light) from the tower to get a few more inches?

It's soooo close... there has to be some other way.
