Post subject:	Swim Platform Rub rail
So I finally got my swim platform rub rail installed. Thanks to jsimon, as without his help in this area it would have taken me much longer! It took about two hours start to finish, but I did pickup four new clamps to help me hold it in place as I didn't have a helper. My question is this, what should I do to cover up the screws that are poking through the underside of the swim platform? Obviously I can cover them up with 4200 or something similar, but thats not a permanent fix. I have some white gel lying around I could put on it after the life caulk dries, but would something else be better?

I would be tempted to grind them flush and leave them. If you ever had to remove one then just replace it with a new one.

Yeah, I would take a dremel and cut the ends off then put a dab of white caulk over them. Why did you need a new rail?

It ended up poking a hole in an inflatable float we had And I reached for the boat once while in the water and suffered a minor laceration on my finger. Do something with them. I would do what Cincy suggests.

What stinks is it takes # 8 screws, but 1/2" wasn't long enough, and as you can see 3/4" was just a tad bit to long. I'll grind them down then seal it up with some caulk. Simple enough.

The 278 and 258 with the molded in platforms have the rub rail around the platform edge, but not the 268s. I really like the way it looks, my 225 had it from the factory... Here's how my 268 used to look. I think this looks a lot better now.

Ordered it through a Four Winns dealer and had it delivered. It had to come truck freight as it was a 16' section. Part #s 033-0977 GUNNEL, WHITE RIGID #V21-9659WHD20D 20' 033-0207-01 MOLDING,SS INSERT, 3/4"X8' PIECES (UPS) or 033-0207 less MOLDING,SS INSERT, 3/4"X16'(16' MINIMUM)

Yep. These are the lights. https://www.oznium.com/high-intensity-led-spotlight Wired them up with just some lamp cord and drilled a small hole thru the transom well above the water line to run the wiring to the helm. All held in place by 4200 - the cord I ran though CableHiders to keep it nice & tidy.
