On my 268, I had my Magma Newport mounted with the dual rail mount, on the back railing next to the stern seat, and above the swim platform.

This mounting location won't work with the 318. Does anyone with a 318 have a Magma grill mounted anywhere on the boat?

I really love where mine ended up, but it has its pitfalls.

The rail system will run you 800+

I have seen them mounted on that back rail against the canvas. Not my thing, but you can do it.
its one inch rail. You could always build some brackets to offset if you want to.

Otherwise, you start looking at something that has to be stowed... And frankly, there isn't a good place for a dirty BBQ.

With how close that rail is to the gelcoat, I didn't think it would fit. Might have to give it a shot. Thats where I had it on my 268.

I mount my grill to the rail on the stern. I put a towel under it to catch an spatter when cooking. The grill and the mount come down went not in use. No issues.

Mine is mounted exactly like the pictures from Cap'N Morgan. It works great almost everything is out over the swim platform drips haven't been an issue.

I installed the grill pedestal base under the swim platform ladder cover like shown in the thread linked below. I drilled holes in the platform and used marine screws and 4500 from West Marine to seal around the screw holes and pedestal base. It's easy to take the pedestal on and off. I bought a Magma storage bag and keep the grill and pedestal in the bag down below behind the cabin steps during the day and under the helm at night if the aft cabin is needed for sleeping.

I mounted the Magma grill on a pedestal off of the swim platform. Put the pedestal mount (flange) near the shore power door. Works great! Easy to install, just locate the flange such that the grill doesn't interfere with the rear seat or flag. I put the grill in the cover tight, then store it in the rear storage under the seat (where the sub is located). Remove the pedestal and store in the same area. The flange on the platform doesn't cause any issues.
