Both look great, and have the layout I am looking for! Wish they were a little closer to home. The price would be very nice on the first one if it were just a few K cheaper . Are 268's easy to trailer? We plan to do more exploring with our next boat.

bliss36 just started trailering his 268 this year. He can tell you. The few times I trailerd our's it was okay, but needed a bigger truck than we used.

Out of curiosity, what were you towing with? I know the Pilot wont cut it, but just checking if a silverado 1500 will cut it or not.

The Regal's are very nice, fast stepped hull, but this one has twin's, are you ready for that?

As far as towing the 268. We only towed twice, less than 30 miles. Used a Durango once and a 1/2 ton Chevy pickup once. Both pulled it, but
were not good for any emergency maneuvers if needed. 3/4 ton would be best. bliss36 tows his just fine with his Toyota Tundra.

Regals are built 20 mins away. I consider them equal and sometimes better then four winns. They hold better resale.

My wife and I were just talking about this last night...we weren't sure if towing was for us since I hating towing our 190 Horizon. We figured if we bought a trailer and still hated towing at least we could save a little on storage. It has come as a bit of a surprise, but I absolutely LOVE towing the 268!! We now just consider towing as part of the adventure. I have to say that having a capable truck makes all the difference when towing. If your planning on towing any type of distance make sure you get a truck rated for 9500lbs+.

It sounds like you want to explore some different lakes, and all I can say is after spending 2 years without a trailer...we wish we would have bought one years ago! We have so much fun breaking out the maps and researching different lakes to visit next! At this point I can't picture myself owning a boat without a trailer. Good luck on your search and don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Probably not! What do you mean, am I ready for twins? Are they more difficult to manuver or dock? Obviously maintenance would be double and I know the gas consumption would not be a treat! It seams to have a nice layout, not quite as nice as Four Winns.

Thanks Bliss! I cant see it any other way. I dont live right by a huge body of water. If I lived closer to Lake Erie, it may be different. The lakes I boat on are pretty small and I have explored them both pretty well now.

I towed my 268 with a Durango for the first few months, but quickly upgraded to a Ram 2500. Big difference with the bigger truck....and my 268 was trailer kept. We trailered every weekend with no issues.

hutch, I meant double the maintenance. Operating twin's is easier than a single. The layout in the Regal is different than a Four Winns, but I would'nt say it's not as nice. Regals' fit and finish you will find is on par or slightly above Four Winns. It all depends on what you like best as far as layout and amenities. That is what counts.

You can make a "mini-jump" into the cruiser style boat, for very little investment here. Yes it is a smaller boat, but includes much of what you would need for overnights, a bit more room than a cuddy, easy to trailer, good for small lakes, easy to work on and well made. A friend of mine has one of these (late 80's model) that he has had for 9 years, and still has it today.

For that kind of money, I'd consider it myself and just leave it up north and launch it when we wanted to spend a weekend at a marina. Hell of a lot cheaper than a cottage.

Ya know, I saw one of these a couple of weeks ago and was wondering what it was, the "4 WINNS" on the side threw me for a bit, I didn't know FW used a 4 before the FOUR :?: What year did they go from 4 to FOUR?
