could be a good deal. I am always weary of salt boats and long stories about why they can't have the boat anymore. I especially like his story about the F150 truck and see an F350 truck in the background of one of his pictures! You also don't know what his reserve is. Maybe you could call him and speak with him about it and you will get a better feeling on it overall.

That's an 8 year old boat that looks 25 years old! I'm glad most of us on this forum take better care of our FWs than that.

There are several places on the port side where it looks like the blue gelcoat was painted on (and ran down at the bottom). How does that happen? Damaged boat? I notice the head looks like new.

A lot of the pictures, and the rambling explanation for everything, do raise questions. I hope those are pictures of the manifolds and risers before they were replaced. It does sound pretty unbelievable that they bought the boat last year - without even starting it.
My biggest concern would be the composite drive -- especially in a single on a pretty heavy boat.

OK, so here's a little fun:

One of his pictures has a photo of his GPS showing the boat approximately in Loxahatchee Florida (actually within 25 miles of my house). He positioned the cursor off shore, and the GPS shows the Lat/Long of the curser at the top of the screen. It also shows that the cursor is 24.1NM bearing 105deg from where the boat is parked.

I used google earth to trace that bearing and distance back to a location of 26`45'10.24"N 80`15'42.41"W

So here's the challenge:
I'm scanning around that location looking for a brown roof house with a large + small barn together (white roofs), curved wood fence, grassy areas, etc like in the photos. So far I haven't found it. But anyone can give it a try and see if they can find it.

Ray

Maybe to someone who has no clue about boats it appears to be a good deal. But knowone on this board would think so, I'm sure of that.

OK, I did my sleuthing:

Based on the phone number in the ad, sellers name is Terry Ferrari, a buyer/fixer/seller of foreclosed houses. Here is his linked in page:
https://www.linkedin.com/in/terry-ferrari-56891826?authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=XWUX&locale=en_US&srchid=105875091475173563980&srchindex=1&srchtotal=9&trk=vsrp_people_res_name&trkInfo=VSRPsearchId%3A105875091475173563980%2CVSRPtargetId%3A91854368%2CVSRPcmpt%3Aprimary%2CVSRPnm%3Atrue%2CauthType%3ANAME_SEARCH

The GPS location is a little off, but I found his property and the boat on google earth at this address:
13231 Night Owl Lane, West Palm Beach, FL

Not sure if anyone watched the videos he uploaded on eBay, but, it looks like he was running the engine without any water running to it. Hmmmmm.

I noticed that too! Also, as mentioned, the manifolds and risers do NOT look new in the pictures. Looks like a guy that knows nothing about boats selling a boat that has not been well cared for (or getting rid of a boat he realized is going to cost him!).

Agree with all those saying NO because:
XDP drive, now discontinued, very troublesome, to replace this with a convention Volvo drive is very expensive
As noted, there are rust trails from the riser joint, so the same problem that seized up the first engine could be still on going
That blue gelcoat, looks awful, I would never buy a boat with any color dark gelcoat. It is very labor intensive to keep looking good unless the boat was always stored inside.
The guy's property looks very sketchy....I expected to see a junk yard dog running out somewhere....

Yep, no water that I saw too.

BUT, at 11k its really not a bad deal. It will need a new impeller for sure. New motor & raisers also needs a lot of detailing.

I had a 2007 V258. The biggest problem was the wiring. It was not tinned, so it turned green fall apart. The other problem, the wiring was undersized.
