Um, sorry if that was misleading but that is what a dealer says is trade-in value on my boat. Of course, the Nada value for THEIR boat is dead on. This was a florida dealer where I suspect mid-sized bowriders are less valuable. Needless to say I laughed. A local dealer is kinda close to what I think it should fetch on trade.

Seriously, how much mores does a dealer need to see on his end of the sale to make taking a trade-in profitable, particularly on a 30-40k boat?

So, anybody want to buy a boat??

Cincy dealers are a joke on trade for the most part. A dealer close to you offered me 14k on mine, but then said he would take it in as a brokered boat, and give me 20k when it sold, and he would keep the rest.

A few are pretty decent. I have a buyer in place, and had a dealer offer me the same as I'm getting for it in my private sale if I bought the boat from him, to save on sales tax. We decided against spending that much on our next new boat though.

If you want it sold, put it up on eBay. It'll cost you $8 to list with a reserve, but the exposure is amazing.

What are you realistically hoping to get for it? I would love to upgrade to a 260. One of the local dealers has a new loaded 08 with a hardtop, etc and they are asking $59,900 (Canadian).

Send me a pm if you want to talk.

$59,900 canadian is roughly $49,500 america depending on the day, right?

I sent you a PM. I'll make it public knowledge that I'm going to list it for $39,900 representing roughly 22% off what a new one (without a $2,000 stereo  ) goes for.

Looks like a nice boat - I sympathize with you on trade values and how the books are always spot on for their side of the deal but wildly incorrect for your side.
