You don't say exactly which model or year the 454 is, so I couldn't say for sure. Many of the 454s are rated around 375hp, but this could vary depending on year and model. Higher Fuel octane should not change horsepower, and is only needed when running higher compression ratios to prevent preignition/detonation (knock). If you are required to run higher octane you may have a higher horsepower rating.

It depends. For example, Mercruiser switched from the 454 to 496 around 2001. In 2000, Mercruiser had the 7.4 MPI which was rated at 310 HP but they also had the 454 Magnum MPI which was rated at 385 HP and had forged internals. So, even same year models had big differences in power.

Also, never trust speedometer speeds, GPS is much more accurate.

Thanks...... All that I know is that the engine was purchased from Four Winns in 2009 and installed due to a freezing problem that occurred the previous cold winter. Only gas available at my Marina is 92 octane not my choice . Enjoy the up coming boating season to all that have had a real traditional winter and are finally able to poke their boats towards the water.
