Dumb question of the day...is there a recommended way to attach the loop of a ski rope to the eye hook? I've been attaching it the same way as I would to a pylon...doubling the loop (to make two loops) then putting it over the "tab" of the hook. When not in use, it has a tendency to pop off.
Photos would be helpful. Thanks, in advance.

Dave

And if towing two skiers, tubers, etc., hookup the second rope the same way right over the first?

Yep, we usually have 2 of 3, occasionally 4 attached, never have a problem with the rope coming off. You could probably put the first couple on the easy way and just attach the last one with the double loop and be fine.

How about on the Old tow hooks. On my 94 Horizon the tow hook is like a finger, there is no way to wrap it behind the "circle" to make it stay on like the new ones. Or has anyone replaced the old style?

This is a picture of the Ski Hook style on my boat.

The rope don't stay worth a crap. Anyone have a good way of attaching the ski rope to it or know of a new style to replace it with that will still look good and not leave a hole in my boat?

Thanks in advance

I know this post is several yrs old.....BUT........I looped my tow rope through this hook in what I thought was the correct way this past weekend and it still slipped off. I eventually used a carabiner (sp?) to attach the rope to the ski eye. It worked but also started scuffing up the outer side of the transom.

It would be helpful if someone could re-post some pics for the new guy! :D

Thanks in advance!

hi i'm also looking for some pictures on how to properly attach a tube tow rope to the eye hook. do you just hook the loop over the middle tab in the circle or is there a way to secure it? thanks
