So I'm looking into the purchase of a fatsac to use for wake boarding.

I just assume that I'll buy a long narrow one to start and use it in the ski locker.

Does anyone have suggestions for weight capacity that would be safe to use based on experience or even some good ol' forum logic?

Thanks for any input.

I use a 500 lb bag but I put it between the bow seats. Moving it that much forward makes the wake better. Plus, I don't have to empty out the ski locker.

Thanks for that response!

I guess my follow up question would be, how much difference does an extra 500 lbs make to the wake? (assuming optimum placement of course)

Do I get that much for my h200, more, less?

Thanks again.

I bought a 375lb fatsac with a tsunami pump to get started. If it makes an improvement, I'll get another larger one maybe. Also just want to see how much of a PITA it is in general.

Hello, did this make a difference? Last year was the first year with a boat that could actually tow. I now have all my gear purchased and a FatSac is next, however I want to know if the difference it makes is worth the money and the hassle. This is a family boat and I will need to remove it after each session as my mother will hate it and we now have a new generation on the water (my sister in-laws little guy is almost 2).

Thanks,

Hi Z - yes the fatsac made a noticeable difference for our H200. I ended up buying a second fatsac to really increase the wake size. Once I got everything pretty much dialled...I sold the Four Winns and bought a Nautique...LOL.

I wouldn't invest a ton into the fatsacs and pump but I got them fairly cheap. They filled and emptied quickly so that wasn't much of an issue. When empty they store out of MIL's sight no problem.

If you think you'll be wake boarding often, I think it's worthwhile. There are guys on the boat brand's forum sites selling used fatsacs all the time.

If you think you'll be wake boarding 'constantly' or also want to move to wakesurfing at some point, you should change up for a v-drive tow boat (or Four Winns TS boats $$$) when it makes sense.
