I need a good pair of combo ski's that will fit a very wide varity of skiers. I've been looking at the HO ultra's with the union bindings. seem like they would make a good slalom ski also...anyone have this set or something that is close to this to recomend. http://www.fogdog.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2657601&cp=&searchId=14258&brandId=14258&parentPage=search

the biggest problem I have is that I'm right @ 200# but my wife is only about 112#. also have a 8 year son that is around 80# or so. I would to atleast be able to have the wife and I use this set and if needed buy a junior set for the boy.

I would use it as a slalom only....

thanks

They look like they would do the trick for you and your admiral, but they will most likely be too cumbersome for your 8 year old.
As for using it as a single, keep an eye out for a good slalom ski, even if its second hand you wont regret it IMHO.
Hope this helps

I just recently went with the O'Brien Competitor combo. They work really nice for my fat @$$ but I am sooo far from being a pro. A touch big for the admiral and of no use for my 9 year old. Actually, this season he will be trying to get the hang of it for the first time so I broke down and got him some trainers with the tie-bar and I already had a Jr. set for him to work up to.
Kind of bums me out how easily the topsides finish can chip if they are banged - I guess not much has changed over the years since the move from wood.

thanks for the replies gentleman... one other option I was thinking about was getting a Junior set and getting a better slalom for my self. The admiral should be able to ski better with the junior set anyways, and then I could get a better slalom, something like a HO mach1.....
