What he said........

I really have no idea if it is or not, I have seen closeout boards and bindings for as little as $150, but they may not be as nice.

I was actually surfing Craigslist this week looking for the same. Most are listed in the $300-400 range used. I would like to get another board, but they ain't cheap!!!

Luckily I ran across mine about 6 years ago from a co-worker who won it in a raffle. He said he'd sell it to me for $20. I offered $40. We settled on $20 and I buy lunch that day.

wow Walt, that is a deal!

I am just stoked to learn to board, Hyperlite seems to have a good rep in quality as well. I am a skier at heart (I also got brand new never used set of Connelly's from my uncle) but I have a big appetite to learn to board. I can ride decently, but I want to be able to ride like I can Slalom.

$200 set up WITH bindings really is a good deal. Mine came without. I believe my bindings alone were over $100. Mine is an Iconn Launch 2000. I don't know how it compares to any other brand, but you see many Hyperlites out there, so they must be good!

Good luck this summer, and congrats on the deal.

That is a GREAT deal. The Hyperlite Premier is one of the best boards they make-good for beginners and can still hang in there when you start to advance. Most important part of a good wakeboard is the bindings. So, if those hold up well and you like them, you can easily transfer them over to another board (most HL's fit Liquid Force, O'Brien, Ronix, Gator....) when you get a new one in the future.

You'll get a lot of good performance out of that board, assuming it is your size. I can't read the number but it looks like it says 135? If so, I hope you are somewhat small.

I am pretty sure its a 136. I am about 5'10" - 5' 11" 175lbs. My friend who I bought it from was 6' and about 185 he never had any troubles...

We shall find out.

I wish I could wakeboard. My boat is capable, I have a board, I just have no skills at all. I tried about 4 times last year...

You'll probably be OK on that size. I'm about your size, plus 10-15 pounds, and I ride a 143.

I figured that something longer would be more applicable...but the deal was too good to pass up, plus buying from a friend helped.

I just need 80 degrees and sunny!

Nah, you'll be fine. If you find yourself really sinking in the water and feel too slow, you can always speed up to 23-24 MPH and you should be good.
