Post subject:  Good First Towable...

Looking forward to next summer already when we will use our boat again. My oldest will be just over three years old and would like to get him a towable to use next summer. I do have a Super Screamer. But I think for a first ride this could be intimidating. Very low to the water and large. I know the largeness of it could play as a benefit, not sure how he will react. For those who have gone through this...is something that he can sit in going to work better? Advice on what to buy? Looking to catch something on clearance this fall.

Thanks for the help.

I guess I should have explained myself better. I will start by just pulling him around next to shore. If and when he wants to go behind the boat I would not take him over no wake speed next summer at all. There will also be an adult with him.

No...was not even considering sending him out for some balls out tubing next year. Man...I guess I sounded like an awful father.

This is what we pull our son on. He was about 19 months old at the time of the pics. and about 20 months old now.

I have the SportsStuff 48" Pro Tube. I pulled my 3 year old niece with my sister in-law last weekend and she said it was really comfortable with both of them in it.

Our son was three when we bought a variety of towables, and this one turned out to be the best ... http://www.airhead.com/airhead/slash2.php . It is sort of horseshoe shaped with separate inflatable bottom and sides. It has little fins and is somewhat steerable. When he was three he was on board with someone behind him most of the time, but by the end of the year was on by himself.....took him another couple of years to be comfortable going out of the wake with it, but we all love this tube. The older kids go flying back and forth across the wake as we make series of "S" turns down the lake....

Simple 56" round tube. My daughter loves it (Now turning ten), and the rest of us use these as well. WE started her in these when she was 4.

You're already getting excited about a season that's 9 or 10 months away to see your son have a great time. That doesn't sound like an awful father to me. :D :D :D :D
