A few weeks ago we had a weekend up the river. During the weekend we did quite a bit of watersports behind the "Lizzy Anne". Most of the photos were taken by my freind Mark, so I didn't have many of my own pics to share. Anyway to cut a long story short, here is a photo of my freind Mark having a "session on the sneakers". Okay I will explain the term. He barefoots wearing a pair of sneakers on. The main advantage is when you come off you come off doing around 33 to35 mph as opposed to 38 to 40 mph.
An interesting fact, he has actually footed (wearing sneakers) behind our old boat ( 15 foot aluminium runabout with a 70hp evinrude) which by anyones standard is quite a feat.
here is the pic

That hurts just to look at! But, it looks like a gorgeous place to boat.

Nice pics Ardy and I can understand about cheating a little bit with the sneakers. Don't you all have crocodiles in the river?

Yeah but only little ones up to about 6 feet ( sorry I couldn't help myself there, thats what we tell anyone that asks)
So no crocs in the River Murray, and yes it is cheating a little I guess, but the thing about barefooting is it never seems to end gracefully. To Marks credit he is 49 and had major heart surgery earlier this year, and still skis rings around me

I had to hijack this post because of the crocodile comment.

I grew up in Georgia, very close to the Florida state line. The lake I learned to water ski in did have alligators. I never heard of anyone getting hurt by one, but for an 11 or 12 year old kid it was kind of scary to think about wiping out near them. The gators were only in the back of the lake which turned kind of swampy. The "big" end of the lake had a spillway dam which made me think of getting swept over it. Looking back now it ran into a small river which was less deep than the actual lake but that didn't make that seem less scary either.

Me? heck no!
The last croc I saw was in a zoo, I use a " HO extreme 67inch slalom, but not until late September, early October as it is winter here now
