Anybody tube behind a bigger boat? Like a Vista 298? If all goes well we'll be moving up in the very near future from our current boat to the bigger one. The kids' only gripe is they may lose their ability to go tubing since a 31' cruiser isn't exactly set up for that type of activity. And just for reference, our kids are young enough that the object isn't to toss them from the tube, it's more about sitting back there and getting pulled along behind the boat while we go mainly in a straight line and big sweeping turns.

How do you attach the pull rope to the boat or do you have a ski eye?

I have a 298V and young kids as well and I pull them on a 2 person towable. I need to get a longer rope because they get some spray and tend to slide down in the trench and stay there until I make a turn. Now, if you want to see someone get tossed 20' in the air from a tube when they hit a 4' wake, the 298V is great for that too (I think my two brother-in-laws are still aching from that trip).

You use a tow harness that you attach to the two tow eyes (?) that are located on each side of the boat below the swim deck.

We tube behind the 268 all the time. Can't toss the tubes around like we did with the 245, but other than that, all is fine.

298vista2000 has it right, we used the bridle, but we connect to the cleats so the rope is up away from the props, I know I know, there is lots of controversy on using the cleats but from my experience in boating I have never had a problem. We use the bridle with the pully on it though so it distributes the force equally over the two cleats and its also nice for pulling kids because it keeps the tube relatively stable (I remove for adults who like to jump the wakes) hell, my last boat was a 35 ft bayliner motoryacht and I used to pull two tubes on the cleats and we all know how well known Bayliners are for having strong fiberglass , seriuosly though, the 298 is a great boat for tubing in my opinion, and as 298vista2000 said, get the longer line because I am using a 60 I think and it throws water in your face at high throttle, and the 298 CAN offer a thrilling ride, especially when you have T5.7's

Bridle connected to the two transom eyes that are below the swim deck are the best option?
