As a person of 48 years of age, who still loves to go waterskiing I am finding it harder to find people to go skiing with. Does anyone else have this problem?

I do somewhat (age 43). One thing that helped is I am engaged to a woman with 2 teenage boys (so some lake time is spent with the kids friends that (while they love wake-boarding), are game for about anything that gives them lake time.

BTW Ardy, thanks for posting pics a while back (I shamelessly stole the sunset shot of yours to use as my wallpaper), BEAUTIFUL.

Hey Sea Boo your more than welcome to any of the pics I post. I'm glad you like it. I just shot the pic, I didn't create it. Strangely my teenage sons are not that interested in behind the boat activities...........but a lot of their friends are,and hopefully future girlfriends/wives etc will be as well, which will help their enthusiasm.
To sum up I am hanging out to get my feet wet ( go for a ski)

Not much interest in watersports in our boating group (4 families) either. Therefore I am typically the lone wakeboarder (age 42). I just took up snow skiing for the first time this winter too. Guess I am a late bloomer.

Similar problem here. I have one buddy who still likes to ski. He has his own boat, so we typically need to jump in one another's boats to go skiing. Also, I like watersports more than my kids. They're starting to come around, though. The scary part is I'm not quite 40 yet.

I'm 48 as well and still love to ski. The wife skis as well but only in Maine not in Florida salt water. I actually am hooked on kneeboarding right now as it is easier. I need someone to teach how to wakeboard as it looks like a lot of fun. The kids go for the kneeboard and tubing as their favorite. We also have a parasail but only use it when it is very calm and no wind. Here is s photo.

48 Years old and the only one in the family except the son in law. None of the boating friends we have do either. I slalom ski, and its enough of a novelty that they don't seem to mind if I do it on regular basis and seem to enjoy watching. But sure would be fun to have more participation.

I would love to ski again, but at 49 with a weak back and 2 bulged discs, I no longer even attempt it. One bad fall and I could be looking at surgery.

I have nothing against wakeboarding, but I still smile when I see somebody out there cuttin' on a ski. :)

I'd offer to be a spotter for ya, but Aus is a looong way from here.
I'm itching to get out on the water too, about 30 days from today is launch!

Or in about 6 weeks time when it gets cold here I could come for a ski with you, same problem with the distance though

I just turned 41 yesterday so I guess I'm barely over the hill. I enjoy getting out on the skis but still haven't made it to slalom, still on two sticks! My issue is that my two kids are too young to be observers so I have to wait until we have friends out with us to be able to ski. Most of the friends are non-baoters so they are generally happy just to be out on the boat and don't mind me skiing. We usually offer to let them go tubing if they want to try it.

I tried wake boarding once a few years ago and have thought about buying one of those to try some more. I'd like to get more time on skis to be able to slalom.

My kids loved tubing last summer so I think they will be up for skiing or wakeboarding soon. That's part of why we bought the boat, more fun stuff for them and their friends, especially when they get to be teenagers. That way we'll know where they are and what they're up to.
