I'm pulling skiers this next weekend for the first time with this boat. Few things. I have an old pair of Obrien skis in my shed. What can I do to them to get them ready for water? Anything I can treat them with to clean them up and how about the rubber boots and bindings?

Someone give me the basics of pulling a skier? I've done it with my 21 footer, but never this boat. Where is my sweet spot? How fast usually? What do I need to know?

I'd just use water and a rag/sponge to clean up the skis. How crusty are the boots? If the rubber is cracking or brittle, they may not last long regardless of what you do. You could try some silicone spray on them.

As for how to pull...it depends on the size of the rider, age and if they are skiing on two or slalom ski. Slalom is pulled between 28 and 32 MPH. Goal is speed with minimal wake. You could knock that down to 25 if they are on 2 skis.

Big issue is safety. Flag up, spotter, engine in neutral or off when picking up the skier and always, always bring the boat to the skier on the driver's side.

Most importantly - have fun!

Had a great time and was able to get a few people up on two skis behind the boat. The 260 is a little big to ski behind. One of the skiers who has lots of experience said my wake looked like a huge wall. Plus it takes an extra second or two for the boat to start pulling compared to the little ski boats. Still had a riot and they love to tube behind it because of the big wake.

Yeah... Huge Wake...a wall like a half pipe...fun. Smaller wake further back, longer rope maybe.
