I would love to know the fuel consumption differences between the 220hp Vortec 4.3 v6 vs. the 220hp V8.

Sounds to me as if Chevy is phasing out the 4.3 if that's the case.

Fuel burn is slightly less on the V8 than the V6 in Volvo's testing.

Did they put any numbers down in what testing was done? In a 18-20ft boat the 4.3 can do 6-7gph cruise at around 28mph. This will have to be a pretty advanced small displacement V8 to match that.


EDIT: From the bore/stroke specs and displacement and pictures... It's just a detuned 5.7GXi from 320hp to 225hp.

so being a SBX based eng, this should swap in place of my merc 350??
