14 inch pounds isn't going to crush the crush sleeve. If it is anything like a crush sleeve on a rear diff pinion. It takes almost 100 foot pounds to do that. Then you back off and retorque to spec. Dont know the step procedure for the job you are doing though

The 14 inch lbs may be the rolling torque or the torque it takes to rotate the shaft after the crush sleeve is tightened down.

Yes its rolling torque. used the tiller tool and it came off in 2min, made it easy!!! sleeve looked good, was in a rush and do not remember seeing two sleeves, makes me wonder if they forgot one. working on it tomorrow and try to figure why there was some much play in it.
