Hi everyone.
So my brother in law and I are gonna tackle some maintenace on the 2006 Horizon 200 this Friday since the 400$ the dealership wants is out of the budget. We are going to go by the manual, we are both fairly mechanically inclined so we should be ok. Here's the rundown. Its a 5.0 Merc. carburated, Alpha 1.
Grease trailer bearings.
Change engine oil and filter.
Change fuel / water seperating filter.
Check the following, and fill if necessary:
Trim fluid
Power steering fluid
Gear lube
Brake fluid for surge brakes
Grease the gimal bearing (is there a zerk on the outdrive for this)
The boat has only about 35 hrs on it but has been sitting for the last year and a half.

you might want to change spark plugs and put in a fuel stabilizer, particularly if you didn't at then end of the season.

Yeah, I put some Stabil in at the end of the season a year and a half ago. About 6 months ago I hooked up the muffs and ran the engine for a while and added some Stabil also.
