Precisely!

Your drive looks too clean to be a salt water boat, so you may not have the sticking issue I had!

My boat is always in salt-water (Gulf of Mexico and ICW), but is trailered and I wash and flush after every use. :) I have also never left it in the water overnight, just during the day while using (cannot speak for previous owner).

I think the gimball repair caused the trim gauge to get out of adjustment.

That oily water should be good for your engine!

Thanks Mike!

The loop current is expected to pull it down south and around the Keys (might have to cancel the lobstering plans in the keys) and hopefully we will not see much of the oil. So far no evidence of it yet on the West Central coast of Florida.

How do I adjust it?

The Cobra trim sender is actually in the same place as the Volvo SX one (since the Volvo was built from the basic OMC gimble/transom mount design) and you turn the drive so the prop end faces the left side of the boat...as you are facing it from the rear...and then you'll see a plastic piece held on to the pivot housing by 2 small bolts...if you loosen them you can move the plastic housing to adjust it....if yours stops working they are not available from OMC/BRP but Sierra makes a replacement now...

I swung by and took a look at it and the access is easy enough. Will take a look tomorrow night when I bring the boat home to get it cleaned up and ready for Memorial Day Weekend.
