Hi everyone, It's time for a new prop on the boat. I have 2005 Horizon 190 with 5.0 GL Volvo SX which is now the H200. I was wondering if any one know what's the factory prop specs are and if I should go with the same or chage to 4 blade or change the pitch. Any input would be appretiated.

Thanks

Luc

if you give me the hull id i can look it up for you, however, when the prop was in good shape you should have run in the 4600-4800rpm range wide open trimmed up a bit. if you did then get the same prop. in theory 3 blad props are the most efficient. of course real life is not theory. i doubt you will see much of a difference between a 3 blade and 4 blade.

aka the vin number, stbd side on the transom, yours will start with GF. Stainless will make a little difference, maybe 2mph more and just a touch better out of the hole but you have to decide if the price is worth the difference.

Hi Brian, Great thanks for the specs. What about changing the pitch. Is this somethings worth thinking about ?

probably shouldnt bother, if you got less of a pitch you will likely over rev and if you go too great of a pitch its going to take longer to get out of the hole and may overwork the engine. i do have a customer who switched to a 5 blade stainless he got online somewhere, same pitch as the stock one but he says its great...no more top speed but it comes out of the hole better and he can cruise at a lesser rpms and still stay on plane.

Thanks Brian, Will look into the 5 blade and see what the cost is like.
