Anyone have a reputable location for the best price for Manifolds and Risers for the Volvo Penta 4.3 GL SX V-6?

Thanks

Are you looking to use OE or aftermarket? Aftermarket, I'd consider Barr or Osco, those I think are still cast here, I'd avoid the off shore cast stuff from GLM since I heard of sealing issues with them. These are heavy, like 50 lbs for each mani+riser unit, so buying local might be better than paying for shipping....

Who would carry them local? I would go aftermarket as I have heard the OEM are very pricey.

Do you know if they use the dry seal gaskets?

The UK market is pretty small. However, the USA market must be huge. How come no-one offers aluminium manifolds and risers ? Cheaper to cast as the mellting point is so much lower than for cast iron, better thermal conductivity and lighter;; with a Zn anode, protected from corrosion ?

I've wondered the same thing Graham, and looking at the aluminum exhaust passages in my 23 year old Cobra, I found very little corrosion, much less than what you see in cast iron manifolds.

To answer the original question, I'd look around for places that sell aftermarket boat parts, we have a lot of them here in Long Island, I'm sure in Fla there are many as well. If you know a local boat mechanic ask them, they might be able to get them for you at a better price....
