I only getting 2200rpm do you recon moving from F5 to F4 will get me up to 5000rpm?

If that's the case, you could try the F3's

Quite expensive if I get it wrong. No response from FW yet...
Anyone interested in buying a perfectly good set of second hand F5's... Or ever switch F5's for F4's...

Using a prop slip calculator.... it estimates the 8.1 prop pitch is 18 from the factory to do 44 mph @ 4500rpms.

The 5.7 has a top speed of 37mph @ 4500rpms. Inputting that data into the calculator with you the 8.1 gear ratio, it calculates a 15 pitch prop is needed to match the four winns specs.

I'm not sure of the actual pitch of the DP props though, and it seems to be nearly impossible to get that data. What is a fact though, you will need to step down a few sizes.

If I were to throw a dart on what prop you "might" need, I'd say F3. See if you can borrow a set from your mechanic. Somebody somewhere has to have a used set laying around that you could throw a deposit on, and get $$ back when returned.

On a duo-prop type drive, the props are in "sets"...these Sets are numbered in a fashion that reflects the "Set", not the pitch of 1 of the props...in reality, 1 actually has greater "bend" or twist than the other, but the "set" is given a value. So since you do not know the actual pitch of the front and rear prop on a Duo Prop drive, the prop slip calculator you used is worthless, as is your "calculated" information you have so graciously provided.

No kidding, that's why I said I'm not sure actual data for DP. If it was an SX drive we'd already have the answer, it's very easy maths.

Somebody has to have this information on comparable prop pitch from single to duo. We know what it would need if it was single prop, so we just need to get a DP set that matches what a 15" pitch prop would be. Just call volvo penta, they should know they designed it.

Well, no matter. Someone has to have the maths data on the DP setup. Just about every manufacturer builds boats that are offered with SX or DP drives. How do they know which prop set to put on a boat when a customer orders the Duo option?
