All of these ethanol related mechanical issues are nothing but the adverse effects of a worthless government program that does nothing but cost us more money in the end. I hate ethanol more for the stupidity of the government mandated program than for the adverse effects. Just wait until these imbeciles get control of your healthcare.

Rik...let me restate. The e gas caused the problem. Th problem it caused was accumulation of water in the fuel tank. Unknown to us, the fuel pump was under strain.

I have owned and worked on boats longer than you have been around. The fuel pump hadn't completely failed, it was an Odd humm. The water fuel seperator was shot.

By the way my mechanic, at a four winns dealership, has worked on my boats for 12 years...I trust him and his opinions.

What's obsurd is saying the mechanic was unethical....we don't know what he saw or has seen in working on these boats. My brothers mechanic said same thing. When his twin Outboards both failed (two year old boat).....ethanol caused probs with pumps and delivery system on twin 250s.

Ethanol will cause probs...these arent steam engines. Sounds like ethanol once again clogged the system and that resulted in another fuel system failure thanks to some politicians listening to some pencil neck idiots who thought they knew it all....imagine that!!!!

Oh...it doesn't take a full winter to have fuel issues due to ethanol....weeks will do it....plus the fuel you buy isn't NEW nor is it stored in a vacuum sealed storage container at the fuel station. I buy the higher octane fuel and add stabil blue to every tank...same thing for my mowers after the carbs gummed up due to......ethanol....according to the small engine mechanic who had a shop full of engines to work on.

Ethanol caused his fuel pumps to fail.....let me put it in a story so you can understand my point. We are driving down the road...i swerve into your lane but dont hit your foreign made Lexus with my American Ford F250 p....you swerve off the road and tumble down the side of the mountain......now what caused the damage to you and your car????

Your correct sir...answer is ethanol!
