Well, I was unable to locate the exact location of the leak....so tomorrow she goes into the shop, I sacrifice next weekend but when she's done I'll have new U-joints, Gimble bearing, impeller and bellows....

$1200 for piece of mind works for me....

First off, standing on the outdrive and jumping on it is not going to damage the transom; if anything you'd probably damage your hydraulic rams first.

Think of how much your boat weighs. Then figure that outdrive is the device that channels all that horsepower to push your 5000lb+ boat through the water! Standing/jumping on the outdrive isnt going to compromise the transom - that is, unless your transom was already compromised (rot).

If there was water in the transom and it froze over the winter, expanded, and cracked, then we've got problems.

FWIW, the transom plug on my 1997 278 Vista was NOT sealed from the factory. So if I had any water in the bilge ( washing the boat, dog dripping on the floor and it making its way down), the water could easily get into the transom and wick it up. Fortunately, I found it before it was an issue, epoxied the living snot out of it, and my surveyor found 0% relative moisture in the transom. I dodged a bullet, but how many people check to make sure Four Winns sealed any holes through the transom? I assumed they'd have already done that. Lesson: Dont assume.
