Want to thank you guys again for all the advice and help. I ended up replacing a whole pile of parts to find out it was the wire that "switches" over after the initial key turn to start that switches from the start in start mode to "run" mode. I did not get a picture as we had to get rolling once we knew it was fixed, but will get one.
The wire itself was attached to a clear plastic wire connector that had a black wire coming out of it and located on the starboard side near the starter. The broken wire was a light purple. It looks like it was bent in half and the plastic sheathing (sp?) was what was holding it together. I just want to make sure that it was not plugged into the clear connector. I could not find any power at the connector source and maybe it is a pre-wired accessory.
The boat ran great. I think I need to adjust the carb idle a bit. It seems to be idling at 1500 rpm which seems high. I also was getting some sputtering and like it was trying to stay running when I turn the key off.
Here she is sitting with the Mako 17 I was helping a friend restore and his other Mako 20 up in front.
LouC did win! Sorry about the weather Ric we thought we were going to get rained out, but it did not hit till Monday and was just overcast, but we pulled the boats and headed home.
