1995 190 horizon, 5.0 fuel injected, omc/volvo drive. I just bought this boat this spring.

1. I just replaced my impeller before I put the boat in the water, today while trying to fix a hard start issue I noticed that the impeller housing is leaking water from what appears to be the middle of it. I did put a new gasked on the back plate. Can someone point me in the right direction on what seals to get to fix this.

2. This boat is extremely hard to start when it is warm. Even if I crack the throttle it still doesnt want to start, it just cranks and cranks. It isnt easy to get it started when it is cold but not as hard as it is when it is warm. I tried cleaning out the idle speed motor and throttle plate but it didnt help. Any suggestions would be great to check.

I talked to the mechanic at the boat repair shop, merc authorized dealer so he didnt have a great deal of info about omc/volvo, and from what he was working with he said that volvo doesnt have rebuild kits with all the seals for sale for the impeller pump. He said to find out who makes the pump and contact them. Since the boat is in the water at the marina I havent had a chance to see if there is any markings on the pump itself saying who made it. Has anyone else ran into this and know who manufactures the pumps used in the mid 90's for omc/volvo.

i assume it is a belt driven pump on the front of the motor? they have a seal and an oring on the shaft, still available as far as i know, part numbers 0960166 for the o-ring and 0827247 for the shaft seal. Or if you want the entire pump is 3851623.

If it's hard to start when it's hot I would buy gasoline at another store, If fill up with Hess I might as well just not shut off cause it ain't restarting when hot. I switched to Mobil1 stations and have not had any hot start issues. Hard starting when hot is a gasoline issue. Either crappy gas, or winter blend when it's hot outside will do that all day long. That's a fuel injected 5.0 ford motor out of the mustang and unless a previous owner wrapped fuel line around the engine block heating it up, it shouldn't vapor lock. Not a big deal, just switch where you buy gas.

Thanks for the part numbers, I ordered them from boats.net today.

I will try running the gas down and switching fuel brands to see if that helps. No nothing has been changed on the motor with the fuel system all stock. Unfortunately I dont get much time to run the boat so it may take a while. Any additives that I can add to the tank to help if it is bad gas? At least half of the tank is last years gas too.
